Ziggy

A little tribute to Ziggy Stardust a.k.a David Bowie in the early 70s, if you don't know who he is then you should read up on your music history!
I saw this as a black and white photo and had to draw it. I hadn't used oil pastels in a long time, and felt that the vibrancy of them really suited Ziggy so I just got creative with the colours! I wanted to make it dramatic and colourful more than anything, to reflect the character's personality and music - and I really like how the angle and his expression combine to make him look quite strange and scary yet still endearingly mischievous...
