PANIC! ...NOW! MAYBE... NOT YET?
...new features can be scary
Artist's Comments
I LOVE Tom Vek, his music is AMAZING. I think he was the best new artist of last year no question, and because of this I really wanted to make something cool dedicated to him!
I was trying out some new techniques here - I've never used pastel straight onto black paper before as you can't sketch it out first! I wanted to portray him in the style of his 'We Have Sound' album cover, which you can see here: [link] It was really fun and quick to do, and I'm pleased with the result - it's stuck up above my CD stereo in my bedroom. Blue chalk pastel on black sugar paper. |

I love the style! It fits really well with the CD cover, you can definatly tell where the influence came from.
The face looks very realistic. The way it's shaded so the face sortof fades out really finishes the drawing off quite neatly. I love how layered and texture the hair looks to.
When i saw the thumbnail for this the lines reminded me of sound waves, and before i opened it fully i thought that it was showing him singing or something. Hehe, it's a really neat pattern.
Yay! So glad you can see the link with the album art, and that the pattern reminded you of soundwaves! That's perfect
