This was an experiment more than anything. I really wanted to see what it would be like to paint in just black and white... it was fun! But not as fun as colour... and difficult in different ways. I know its not perfect but I like the moodiness of this piece, plus it's of my musical idol, Beck! I just love doing artwork for myself - wish I had the time to do more.
Black and white oil paint, rubbish paper meant for pastels and about 2-3 hours.
Wow, that's really well painted! I love the shading, highlights and shadows and I really love his lips. His eyes looks very realistic. I love the moody but thoughful look on his face. Everything is in proportion, his neck and shape and size of the face. The eyes and other facial features are in the right place and there isn't too little or too much forehead. The composition is also nice. This painting has great depth and looks very 3D. You did very well with the differnet shades and tones with just black, grey and white paint. The hair is great because it has different shades of colours.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
