This is my final painting for the school art project 'In the City'. It's supposed to be in a nightclub, you see!
I really wanted to experiment with the effects coloured lights have on people, and this is the result - the smudges of paint are because they're moving! I wanted to convey the feeling of loneliness when in a crowd you don't feel a part of - being quite a shy person myself, I often feel like this.
The central character is based off me...

great drawing.. I love how everybody is not looking at something and she just stares at you as if she wants to tell you "I don't belong here.. lets just go home and watch a DVD, please?"
I see this moment as if it's a scene from a film.. you see everyone dancing fast, but the scene is in slomotion.. the music aswell and you can't hear the music that well.. the centrale character bearly moves and you can only see her hair move and she blinks sometimes, but not much.. (sorry for this dreamy comment xD)
